Sunday morning, July 5, sermon preached by Pastor Brian McLaughlin.

Thank you for joining us today at Fairview Baptist Church!  If you are a guest, thank you so much for being here with us today. Today, throughout our service, it is my prayer that you will see just how amazing the grace of God truly is and just how free the gift of His righteousness is to those who believe. (Romans 3:24) Jesus has changed our lives completely and it is the worship of Him that thrills our hearts.  Our desire today is simply to magnify Jesus Christ because His amazing grace that is greater than all our sin.

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured,
there where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin!

It’s because we have been given the grace of God that we can now honestly and openly take responsibility for our sin and seek to address it through the power of the Gospel.  Today, we look into the word of God to address a sin that often goes unnoticed and un-confronted in the lives of believers.  Really, without confronting this sin in our lives, there’s not much hope of actual spiritual growth and maturity in grace.  So let us draw our attention to the twelfth chapter of 2 Samuel and Psalm 51.
